Spinal cord injuries are mostly caused by trauma, often incurred in road traffic or sporting incidents, often with devastating and irreversible consequences. According to a systematic analysis of 49 animal studies researchers found that after experimental spinal cord injury, transplanting olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) into the site of damage significantly improves locomotor performance.

Brain's lymphatic vessels as new avenue to treat multiple sclerosis Vessels carry mysterious message from brain that causes MS, research suggests -- ScienceDaily
The brain's lymphatic vessels appear to carry previously unknown messages from the brain to the immune system that ultimately cause the disease symptoms. Blocking those messages may offer doctors a new way to treat a potentially devastating condition that affects more than 2 million people.

Concussions loosen insulation around brain cells Condition detected two weeks after concussion, when players said they felt ok -- ScienceDaily
Detailed scans of concussed hockey players found that the protective fatty tissue surrounding brain cell fibers was loosened two weeks after the injury -- even though the athletes felt fine and were deemed ready to return to the ice. A loosening of that insulation, called myelin, slows the transmission of electrical signals between neurons, and shows that passing a concussion test may not be a reliable indicator of whether the brain has truly healed.

Click here to subscribe - https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/wxrn Identifying Gluten Sensitivity in children is best done through genetic testing - https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/genetic-testing-for-gluten-sensitivity/ As kids are growing and their brains are developing, they may develop behavioral issues. Right now there is a lot of pressure for their parents to then put them on drugs. However, there are a lot of studies that show that if you change the diet, you change the behavior. It is important to understand that normal brain function depends on nutrients. Click here to subscribe - https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/wxrn We know that gluten can contribute to a wide range of complications within the body... but can its effects extend all the way to the brain? Incredibly, yes. Our body’s systems don’t work in isolation. They are all interconnected and one root problem can cascade into a range of reactions throughout the body... such is the case with gluten. When it comes to the brain, there are two mechanisms by which gluten can impact brain function: 1. It can compromise the blood brain barrier - a critical layer that protects the brain from harmful substances. This condition is called Leaky Brain. 2. Gluten-induced nutritional deficiencies can contribute to neurological problems and also impair their repair and healing. In this video, we'll discuss the impacts gluten can have on brain and nerve health, as well as the many downstream effects that compromised brain and nerve function can have on the body.
